Clinical Gold Standard

What is the STRAW+10 framework?

The Stages of Reproductive Aging Workshop (STRAW+10) is the internationally recognized gold standard for categorizing female reproductive aging. Developed by a consensus panel of leading endocrine, gynecological, and epidemiological researchers, it provides objective criteria based on cycle variance, amenorrhea duration, and endocrine dynamics.

Stage -2: Early Perimenopause

Defined by a persistent difference of 7 or more days in the length of consecutive menstrual cycles. Hormone levels (estrogen and FSH) begin to fluctuate unpredictably rather than declining smoothly.

Stage -1: Late Perimenopause

Marked by the onset of amenorrhea intervals of 60 days or longer. This stage features the highest endocrine volatility, often accompanied by heightened vasomotor symptoms and nocturnal awakenings.

Non-Bleeding Clinical Track

For individuals with hormonal IUDs, endometrial ablation, hysterectomy with ovarian retention, or surgical menopause. Staging focuses on vasomotor onset, sleep fragmentation, and procedural timelines without forcing menstrual questions.
